Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We have had the most inspirational day today. The chance to hear from Emma Carroll about writing was so wonderful and made us all want to rush off and pick up a pen and write. Our Year 5 and 6 pupils were inspired further with an hour-long workshop which got them really using their imagination and writing. We were so excited to read their results. It was extra special as Emma is an ex-pupil, having been here in the very first cohort of children. It was her experiences of learning English at Bishop Henderson that made her want to be a writer.
Many children came to have a book signed and some year 4 pupils had an extra treat as she read with them in The Burrow. Massive thanks to The Friends for funding this special experience for our children.
The school hall has been a hive of activity over the past two days as all of our children joined together to recreate our school out of Lego Bricks. They showed great creativity and imagination and we are so impressed by the result. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the process and collaborated so well together. Here are some photographs to serve as a lasting reminder of this special event.
Yesterday, the rain hardly stopped in Taunton. The children all spent the day indoors, local roads flooded, traffic was chaotic across the town as everybody got in their cars to escape the downpours. Meanwhile... in Swanage.... the sun shone and the children spent the day outside!
Our Year 6 pupils have had a super day in the Swanage sunshine doing a wide range of activities, followed by a beautiful night walk looking over the Dorset coastline. I have spoken with staff this morning, all children had a good night's sleep and have woken up raring to go this morning. Here are a few photographs for you - more will be uploaded during the day.
Orr Year 6 pupils have arrived safely in Swanage ready for their three-day residential. Keep watching this space as I will upload photographs as and when they arrive.
