Our vision underpins everything we do at Bishop Henderson Primary School and influences the ethos of our school and the policies and practices within it. We believe that children need to have the opportunity to look inwards at themselves, look outwards at the world around them and understand the influence they can have on it, and look upwards - to the possibility of a wider life outside that which is seen.
In school, we refer to this as Spirituality. We believe that spirituality is a core thread which runs through our school and we attach great importance to it for both pupils' development and for the growth and well-being of all within our school community.
This is our school definition of spirituality.
Spirituality is something that we cannot see, something that we find inside ourselves. It touches us all in different ways and is part of our on-going reflective journey. It is about delighting and searching; looking for awe and wonder, inner peace and outer purpose; it is about being aware of something bigger than ourselves.
Please refer to the documents below to understand more of how this is lived out within school.
