Welcome to Year 4
We open the class doors at 8:35am for registration at 8:45am.
Throughout the year in history and geography, our focus is on Our Changing World. This term, our history topic is Romans in Britain and then moving on to the Saxons in Britain. This leads on from their learning about the Romans in Year 3. To find out more, please see the knowledge Organisers in Curriculum Overviews.
We are also working towards the Multiplication Check (https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/multiplication-tables-check) which will take place in the Summer term - please ensure your child is regularly practising their times tables on ttrockstars. They will soon have a times table rockstars login in their reading diaries!
Forest School (Mrs Steed) and PE (Mr Nelson) - is on Friday mornings. Please wear either your PE or Forest School clothes to school and bring your uniform to change into. We will swap half termly. Autumn 1 Class 9 will do Forest School and Class 10 will be doing PE.
Forest School Clothes:
When your child's class are doing Forest School they will need to wear: a long sleeve top, long trousers, waterproof trousers and coat. Children need to bring wellies to school and these can be stored on the welly hooks outside class 9. When the weather is colder they will also need hat, scarf and clothes.
PE with class teacher: Each class will also do PE with their class teacher on a different day. This day is yet to be confirmed.
Music - Year 4 will be learning to play a Brass instrument with Mr Bowen. Class 10 will do this during Autumn 1 and Class 9 in Autumn 2. We will continue to swap each half term during the year.
You can find out more about year 4 during our Welcome evening on Tuesday 15th September from 3:30 pm in Class 9. We look forward to seeing you then. We have also added a pdf of the key information we will be sharing to our Year 4 section of the school website.
We are looking forward to a busy and exciting year!
