Extra Curricular Clubs

Dear Parents,

 

Welcome back from what I hope has been an enjoyable summer break. Following on from last year’s extra-curricular timetable, we are pleased to be able to offer further opportunities for the coming autumn term.  Clubs will start during the week commencing 12th September 2016 (unless stated otherwise). Please note that after-school clubs finish promptly at 4.15pm unless you are notified otherwise. Parents / Carers must be there at this time to receive children from the Club Leader unless we have notice in writing that children (Year 5 and 6 only) may walk home or informing us that another, named, adult will be collecting.

 

This term we are pleased to offer a selection of activities, which include: Dance, Football, Gymnastics, Netball and Craft Club.

 

Please complete one slip for each club your child wishes to join and post it in the appropriate envelope in the entrance foyer (a separate envelope for each club).  These will be in the entrance foyer on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th September.  Please assume your child will be allocated a place in the chosen club(s) unless otherwise informed - our deadline for informing you is Friday 9th September.  Children are expected to be committed to attending and should inform the club leader if they do not to wish to attend anymore.

 

Once clubs have started, if your child is unable to attend an after-school club, it is very important that the person running the club is informed by parents in advance. (If your child is absent from school, a message will automatically be passed on.)

 

Parents/carers with current DBS clearance who would like to offer support for a club are invited to contact the club leader directly.

 

All clubs will continue to take place, regardless of the weather, as the clubs will move indoors if necessary. In the event of bad weather, your child is expected to stay at school until the scheduled end of the club, unless parents have informed the club leader otherwise. If a club has to be cancelled for any other reason, parents will be informed in writing with at least 24 hours’ notice.

 

Following on from last year, may I remind all children of our ‘Sporting Spirits’ initiative which reflect out high expectations of behaviour during extra-curricular activities. We are extremely lucky to have such a wide variety of opportunities available, run voluntarily by club leaders. Therefore, we reserve the right to remove any child who is not behaving accordingly.

 

Our ‘Sporting Spirits’ awards board can be found in the school hall. This is a new initiative, celebrating and promoting outstanding sportsmanship. Information about matches and other local sports organisations and events can also be found on the Sports Notice Board in the cloakroom by Class 14.
