Maths – Addition and subtraction problems

 

English – This week we will be starting to write our own fantasy story – your character will travel through a portal to reach their fantasy world.  You can use a wardrobe or a portal of your choice.  Today we would like you to plan your story.  We have attached a planning sheet for you to use. 

 

History – Complete a factfile on a famous King or Queen.

 

Music – Please complete the music lesson - Harmony – Lesson 3 – on Oak Academy.

English – Today we would like you to continue to work on and improve your plan.  Can you add some more detail?  Can you add some expanded noun phrases, strong verbs, adverbs, prepositional phrases, impressive vocabulary …

Maths – Volume and capacity

 

English – Today you will begin to write your story.  We would like you to write your introduction today.  How does your character enter the fantasy world and describe the setting.  What character do they meet?  Ensure you set the scene and atmosphere of the story using carefully selected vocabulary. 

Success Criteria:

  • I have selected vocabulary carefully to create atmosphere - expanded noun phrases 
  • I have used prepositional and adverbial phrases 
  • I can integrate dialogue in narratives to convey character and advance the action  
  • I can use speech punctuation correctly  

 

Guided Reading – Please complete the attached reading comprehension – Heart Parts

 

Art – We will be continuing with our Aslan inspired lion collages.  Please have a go at your own lion collage. 

 

 

Friday

 

Maths – Volume of cuboids

 

English – Today you will be writing the dilemma of your story.  Focus needs to be conversations between characters that advance the action. Ensure speech shows personality of the characters and demonstrates a clear difference between the dialogue and the story. e.g., use of contractions, accents, slang or very formal language.  

 

Science –

Use the PowerPoint presentation below to learn about the human digestive system.
