Thursday and Friday

Over these two days, we will be completing an art project and will have some artists coming into school to work with us. We will be learning about the artist Brian Rice and creating a piece of artwork in his style.

We would like you to complete these tasks over the two days:

- Research Brian Rice, make some notes about his life and artwork and then present your work as an information poster or as a PowerPoint presentation. Please include text and pictures. This will take a few sessions to complete.

- Look at Brian Rice’s paintings / prints. Choose your favourite and tell us why it is your favourite.

- Create a piece of artwork in the style of Brian Rice. This will take you a few sessions to complete. You will need to plan out your work – look back at examples of Brian Rice’s artwork for inspiration.

Then you will need to create your background. At school we will be using acrylic paints on canvas. After that you will be creating the main design of your artwork. In school, we will be using material, card and papers.
