Can you write a letter from the perspective of a coloured crayon explaining why you quit. You could use examples from the book to help you.
Partition numbers into tens and ones and complete corresponding number sentences.
40 + 1 = 41
30 + 11 = 41
20 + 21 = 41
10 + 31 = 41
0 + 41 = 41
Repeat with different numbers.
Compare amounts of objects. You could use lego, pasta, rice etc.
Get two piles of objects.
Group them into tens. Any left over are your ones e.g. 20 and 5 is 25.
Once you have worked out the total of both piles, use the symbols to compare them.
