This week in Maths we are exploring finding related facts.
For activity 1 you will need to use what you know to make a new number fact e.g.
If 7 + 3 = 10 then 70 + 30 = 100
If 6 + 1 = 7 then 60 + 10 = 70
For activities 2 and 3, the children will explore fact families. This is where you have 2 additions and 2 subtractions to represent a problem e.g.
2 + 8 = 10
8 + 2 = 10
10 - 2 = 8
10 - 8 = 2
For activity 4 (number bonds within 100) please watch the below clip and then complete the activity.
For English this week, we are going to write a diary pretending we were at the Great Fire of London.
Activity 1: suffix -ed.
Look at the PowerPoint and then write a list of -ed words. Can you put them into a sentence?
Activity 2: Features of a diary
Look through the PowerPoint and then compare the 2 diary extracts. Do they have all of the features?
Activity 3:Plan and write a diary (this will take a couple of days)
When you write your diary, try to include the features from activity 2, in particular writing in the past tense (-ed words) and writing in the first person.
Staying Safe on Bonfire Night
This year if we have fireworks and bonfires it will be at home so it is even more important to learn how to keep ourselves and our family safe.
Please go through the PowerPoint to learn how to do this and then complete the Fire Safety activity sheet and role play using the attached guide what you would do if you had to call 999 because of a fire or for a different emergency. This is also a good opportunity to learn your home address including the postcode.
