English - We are continuing with 'The Gingerbread Man' this week. We will be learning a story map where we will use the pictures to learn the story off by heart. You can use the story map below to see if you could re-tell the story to one of your grown-ups.
Challenge: Can you have a go at drawing your own story map to retell the story? You could do your own story map of 'The Gingerbread Man' or you could even have a go at drawing a story map of a different story you know well?
This week we are thinking about adding one more. You could watch the episode of Numberblocks below to learn about adding one more. Can you find some objects up to 5 in your house and have a go at adding one more. How many are there now?
Challenge: You could build a lego tower and then try and guess how many would be in your tower if you added one more. You could use the prompt cards below to help. For an extra challenge, you could try and write a number sentence to show how many you have after adding one more.
E.g 3+ 1= 4
Other - Gross Motor Challenge
Squiggle Whilst You Wiggle uses dance and large movements to help children develop the fine muscle control they need for writing. They will learn a new gross motor movement to a piece of music. They will dance using this movement and use it to make marks, this could be in foam, on paper, in sand etc. They will then use this action to think of letters they can form that use this shape. These sessions are great fun but most importantly help your child to be confident mark makers. Have a look at the videos below for some ideas and fun movements. If you search 'Squiggle while you Wiggle Music' on Youtube, you will find lots of fun tunes to practice your movements to.
