Don’t forget your capital letter.

Learning Objective: I can suggest things an ogre would eat.

Zoom with Miss King.

Using a Shrek clip as a stimulus, discuss ideas as to what an Ogre might like to eat.

Consider use of alliteration – words beginning with the same letter, - for example slimy, slippery slugs.

Challenge: can you using onomatopoeia? Onomatopoeia is the formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named, for example crunchy caterpillars.

Learning Objective: I can measure using a ruler

See the recorded lesson to support you with this lesson.

How many different items can you find that measure 15cm?

How many different items can you find that measure 10cm?

How many different items can you find that measure 8cm?

Collect items, from around your house, and measure them.

Remember to always start measuring from the zero.

Record what you have measured and their measurements.

Shuttle run: decide on the distance you want to run and place two markers to indicate this distance. How many times can you run back and forth in 1 minute? Repeat, can you beat the number of times you ran? Challenge: can you cover a longer distance?

Ball challenge 1 - throw the ball up in the air and catch it without a bounce. Complete 6 times.

Step ups: Find a step. How many times can you step up and down in 1 minute? Try again, can you beat your score?

Ball challenge 2 - throw the ball up in the air, clap once and catch it. Complete 4 times.

Side jumps/ forward and backward jumps: Place a piece of sellotape on the floor as a line. You might have a paving slab that you can jump over. Put your toes up to the line; jump over the line and then jump backwards so you end up back where you started. Repeat. How many jumps can you do in 1 minute?

Variation: Stand sideways to the line. Jump sideways over the line and then back again.  How many jumps can you do in 1 minute?

Ball challenge 3 - throw the ball up in the air, do a full turn, let the ball bounce and then catch it. Complete twice.
