Watch the doubling powerpoint below and then use try some doubling yourself. You will need a dice and some pasta pieces. Roll the dice, count out that number of pasta pieces then double that number with an equal amount of pasta pieces. Now how many have you got?

Ask a grown up to draw some ladybirds for you and put spots on one wing. Can you double the spots by drawing on an equal number on the other wing? How many now? Can you write a number sentence to show this eg 2+2=4, 4+4=8 etc
