A Trip to the Bakery to Buy Gingerbread Biscuits

Remembrance Day

Starting School

Reception all enjoyed Book Week, starting the week with dressing up as their favourite book characters. The week was filed with exciting book related activities, including, a visit from the Storyteller who told us the story of The Gingerbread Man. We had a go at making our own Playdough Gingerbread men, and also acted out the story of Golilocks and the Three Bears in our home corner. The year 4 children also came down to read us a story - an enjoyable experience for all!

The Little Red Hen

Reception have been learning the story of The Little Red Hen. We met Mrs Coglan's Rhode Island Red chickens that looked just like the little red hen and we even made bread just like the little red hen did in the story. We used a story map to retell the Little Red Hen story and really impressed everyone with how well we performed it.

To celebrate Harvest. Rev. Jenny told us the story of bread which some of us knew about from our Little Red Hen story.  We listened and joined in responding to Rev. Jenny's questions. She was very impressed by how well we sat and listened? We sang a song about the big red combine harvester and joined in with the actions.
