Visit to Wells Cathedral and The Bishops' Palace.

Research and make notes about the following things:

  • The Bishops' Palace Garden
  • Antony Gormley

 

Tuesday 

Maths: 

Login to MyMaths tasks set on Place Value.

English:

Look at photos of Wells and write a poem, using adjectives and nouns, for example:

Wonderful Wells.

Majestic cathedral,

Incredible clock,

Fantastic scissor arches,

Dazzling stained glass windows,

Beautiful gardens,

Spectacular Wells.

Art:

Read the information about Anthony Gormley (in resources below) and make a fact file about him. Look on the Wells Cathedral website:

English:

Grammar - complete the task on 'Homophones'.

French:

Look at the 'Getting to Know You' phrases on the resource sheet (below). Write some simple sentences or statements in French using these phrases.

 

Thursday

Maths:

Grammar - Can you stretch a sentence and make it more interesting?

History:

Continue researching about cave paintings from Stone Age times (one website is:

but you may find others with some help from a grown up at home)

Can you find some interesting facts? Note them down to share with us when you're back in school?

 

Friday

Maths: 

Can you solve these calculations and set them out in the written column method?

English:

Grammar - Guided reading.

Science

Light sources - please see resources. Make a mind map of what you already know about light, and any questions you have. Look at the power point and fill in the blanks on the sheet. You can choose which sheet suits you best with some help from an adult (*, ** or *** increasing in challenge).
